Beginner's Kumihimo: The Art of Japanese braiding Beginner's Kumihimo: The Art of Japanese braiding. Originally used to braid lacing for the Samurais’ armor, today it is a popular jewelry making technique. The literal translation of Kumihimo means the "coming together (kumi) of threads (himo)". It’s fast, easy, and fun! Our Beginner's class shows you how to make the basic round Kumihimo braid.  Level: Beginner – No previous braiding or jewelry making experience required. Technique Learned: Basic 8-Strand Round Braid using a foam Kumihimo disk Length of Class: 2 Hours Cost: $45, includes all materials, including Beginner's kit. (The Kit for beginners includes the Kumihimo braiding disc-zap jewelry gel- 8 bobeez no tangle thread bobbins- findings kit plus a rattail braid color mix.) Beginning Earrings: Basic Wire Working

A great starter class! You'll make two pairs of earrings. Learn about head pins, eye pins, how to properly open up jump rings and much more. Please Note: This class is a pre-requisite for our Wire-Wrapping Pendants class. (Earrings pictured are just an example and not the exact pair that you will make in the class.)
